This study analyzes violations of the principles of linguistic politeness in the Saudi Arabian film From the Ashes through a pragmatic analysis. The study aims to describe the forms of violations of the principles of linguistic politeness based on Geoffrey Leech’s six maxims of politeness in the characters’ utterances. The method used is qualitative, employing a listen-and-record technique to identify utterances that violate the principles of politeness. The results show that there are 45 instances of violations, with the maxim of prudence being the most dominant type of violation, followed by the maxims of respect, sympathy, and agreement, while the maxims of humility and generosity were not found. These findings indicate that communication patterns in the film tend to be dominated by less polite speech due to psychological pressure, parental ambition, and a competitive and unhealthy school environment. This study is expected to contribute to strengthening pragmatic studies, particularly regarding violations of the principles of linguistic politeness, and to serve as a reference for pragmatic learning in the study of Arabic language and literature through the medium of film.
