This study aims to analyze code-switching in Obayd Fox’s YouTube content titled “Speaking Arabic in the Saudi mountains and immersing myself in Arabic for 24 hours as an English person in Saudi Arabia”. In the video, the speaker actively use Arabic (fusha and amiyah) and English, resulting in the linguistic phenomenon of code –switching, which is a compelling subject for sisiolinguistic study. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing observation and note- taking techniques for data collection. The data, gathered from creator’s speech across several YouTube video uploads, werw analyzed using Suwito (1983) theoretical framework. The findings indicate 8 instances of code - switching, comprising 5 instances of external code - switching and 3 instances of internal code – switching. External code switching refers to the speaker switching between a native and a foreign language, while internal code – switching occurs when the speaker alternates between different varieties or dialects of the same language, such as from fushah to ammiyah. Furthermore, the study identifies several factors influencing code – switching, these include the speaker and interlocutor adapting their speech style, the presence of a third person, and the topic of conversation used to foster a sense of relatability, other motivating factors are the speaker’s need to exprees personal emotions or conditions, a desire for prestige, and the intention to provide clear explanations, there by making the vlog more comprehensible and creating a relaxed for audience.
