Abstract

This study aims to describe the various forms and functions of speech acts in the comments section of the TikTok account Berita Indonesia. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive type, which is to describe the various forms and functions of speech acts found in the comments section of the TikTok account Berita Indonesia. The data analyzed are words, namely the utterances in the comments section of the TikTok posts. The data collection techniques used were reading, listening, and note-taking. The results of this study describe the various forms and functions of speech acts in the comments section of the Berita Indonesia TikTok account. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the forms and functions of speech acts found in the comments section of the Berita Indonesia TikTok account are very diverse. The forms and functions of speech acts in the comments section of the Berita Indonesia TikTok account include directive speech acts with the functions of request, command, invitation, and prohibition. Representative speech acts with the functions of stating, explaining, suggesting, boasting, and bragging. Expressive speech acts with the functions of sadness, sarcasm, and gratitude. Finally, commissive speech acts with the function of promising.
